Matiu Boynton-Rata (Ngai Tūhoe, Ngāpuhi Hokianga ki te Raki, Te Rarawa) was born with a heart for performing. With a foundation in Kapa Haka and shower singing, Matiu has achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts(Acting) from Te Kura Toi Whakaari o Aotearoa: NZ Drama School. Matiu’s most recent theatre credits include ‘Waiora Te Ukaipo: The Homeland’ beside Hone Kouka and ‘The Haka Party Incident’ beside Jason Te Kare.
